Thank you for facilitating this course!

Our hope is that we can provide you with all the resources and support you need to make this an incredibly successful and enjoyable journey!

  • To gain theological vision and language for the hurting in our communities, for those not flourishing.

  • To gain a socio-historical perspective into how the church in general, and Anglicans in particular, have actively sought the welfare of those around them; to see that it’s normal to love our neighbors! This is what we do; it’s what the church has always done.

  • To gain stories and ideas from those who are active in these spaces today. Why do they do what they do? How do they do it?

  • To gain practice. Practical exercises and tools to identify and prioritize a focus area, as well as ways to begin a work that embodies love and practical support for those in need around you.

Learning Objectives:

Living Isa58 Course Resources

There are several core elements of the course you’ll want to be familiar with (resources are linked to the title):

1.) Learning Platform - Participants can navigate much of the course content at their own pace before group meetings. They can also return again and again to engage with additional resources and materials.

2.) Facilitation Guides - There are six sessions in this course. We have created a single facilitation guide that provides detailed instructions for each session. Please note, you are not required to follow the guide precisely. It is meant to provide structure and direction for you. Some will want more detail, others will be more confident with less.

3.) Participant’s Guides - Sometimes it is nice to have something tangible to touch and look at. We have created two versions of these guides based on your preference and resources. There is a “Lite” version of the guide which consolidates all QR codes and information into three pages. There is also an 11-page, beautifully designed “Full” version that can be printed and used for notes.

4.) Slide Decks - We have provided a slide deck for each session. You are welcome to make a copy and modify/add to these slides as meets your needs.

4.) Videos - Most sessions have videos. It’s generally helpful to have the video downloaded or queued prior to the meeting to ensure a smoother session.

  • Session 1

    • The Bible Project - Justice (Video)

    • Is Justice Worth It? (Video)

  • Session 2

    • Practitioner Spotlight - Eric Chin (Video)

    • The Bible Project - Compassion (Video)

  • Session 3

    • All Things Reconciled - A Rocha (Video)

    • The Bible Project - Shalom (Video)

    • Practitioner Spotlight - Lena Van Wyk (Video)

  • Session 5

    • Helping Without Hurting - Chalmers Center (Video)

  • Session 6

    • Becoming a Humble Listener - The Chalmers Center (Video)

    • Practitioner Spotlight - Lexi Moles (Video)

5) Handouts - Some of the sessions have handouts that go with them. You can either print them, download and email copies or send participants the link to the folder.
