Not Alone Ministries exists to ensure that every single mom is seen, loved, and supported. Their primary focus is on creating grace-filled gospel-centered communities where single moms can find hope, healing, and wholeness. In addition to community, they provide targeted tangible support to help each mom achieve personal growth outcomes (spiritual, relational, emotional, financial, physical). Tangible support consists of housing assistance, counseling assistance, legal support, domestic abuse and violence counseling, meals, and labor (moving, handyman services, babysitting, etc.).
The goal of this project is to launch two new Not Alone communities. Each community supports about 10 moms and her children. The funds will cover regular community gatherings that include a meal, babysitting, and a bible study. Additionally, funds will cover tangible needs like housing, counseling support, car repairs and needs that come up and are vetted through a trained team to ensure they are helpful and developmental.
Project Impact
The research is clear that single moms and their children face significant obstacles to flourishing. Making up the largest group of people below the poverty line in the US, the majority of these moms and children are incredibly vulnerable and falling further behind on life outcomes.
However, the research is also clear that through social support groups and targeted tangible support, these outcomes can be reversed and overcome.
Although a young ministry, they already have a strong track record with strong testimonials from many moms of the life-changing impact they have received! The matching grant from M25i will enable Not Alone Ministries to jumpstart two new communities of single moms to support their journeys.
